Eastern Greene Schools is searching for a Band Director at the High School and Middle School level for the 2024-2025 school year. Job responsibilities and requirements are as follows:

Responsibilities:

• Teach and actively plan sequentially for four concert bands grades 6-12 (6th grade beginning band, 7th grade Intermediate, 8th grade advanced, 9-12 High School Concert Band).
• Teach one music history or music theory course to high school students.
• Teach one percussion course for high school percussion students.
• Direct the Eastern Greene Marching Thunderbirds competing in the CITSA circuit and Indiana State Fair Band Day.
• Be a sponsor of the Eastern Greene Winter Guard, which is non-competitive and performs solely at certain basketball games.
• Other extracurricular activities include jazz band, musical pit orchestra, and pep band at football and basketball games.

Requirements:

• Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from an accredited university
• Hold or will apply for an Indiana Music Teaching License
• Knowledge of all wind and percussion pedagogy
• Knowledge of marching band techniques
• Ability to work with additional staff members and music colleagues
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
